Why you need Talkmobile settings

You need Talkmobile settings for your phone so you can use our services. This is the case even if you bought your phone from us as the settings aren’t pre-loaded.

The kind of services that need settings are sending picture messages and browsing the Internet on your phone.

Settings are usually downloaded automatically when you put your SIM in your phone for the first time, so you probably won't need to do anything.

However, occasionally settings won’t download correctly and you’ll need to ask for them to be sent again. Don’t worry, it’s not technical and it’s easy to do.

If you’ve put a Talkmobile SIM in a phone for the first time and are having trouble using any of our services such as accessing the Internet or sending picture messages, you may need to ask for settings to be re-sent.

How to get Talkmobile settings

Simply text WEB to 40127 and we’ll send you text messages with the right settings.

To make sure your settings are installed in your phone, you'll need to make sure you're not connected to Wi-Fi, and that you're connected to the Talkmobile network.

Your settings will arrive in a text, and you’ll need to accept or install them to activate them. Just follow the directions on the text.

Alternatively, you can enter the settings manually.

For iPhone, go to Settings, Mobile Data / Cellular Data, Mobile Data Network
For Android, go to Settings, Mobile Networks, Access Point Names
For Windows, go to Settings, Mobile Network, Add APN

Enter the following settings for internet:
APN = talkmobile.co.uk (Contract) / payg.talkmobile.co.uk (Pay As You Go)
Username = wap
Password = wap

Enter the following settings for MMS:
MMSC = http://mms.payg.talkmobile.co.uk/servlets/mms
MMS proxy = 212.183.137.012
MMS port = 8799
