Keep my number when switching to Talkmobile

If you want to keep your existing number when switching over to Talkmobile from another network, all you need is a PAC (Port Authorisation Code).

Follow these simple 3 steps:

  • Request PAC
    A PAC code is easy to get from your existing network provider by sending 'PAC' to 65075 using the number you want to keep. The term ‘PAC’ sounds strange but your old network provider will understand what you mean. The code you get will be valid for 30 days.
  • Send the PAC to us
    You can include your PAC when you order online. Alternatively, once you have your PAC, start a chat with us by clicking on the orange 'Chat Now' box on the right hand side of the page and we'll do it for you. You’ll get the option to pick the date that your number moves over.
  • All done!
    We’ll use the PAC to bring across your phone number across from your old provider. Before you know it you’ll be dialling the world from your new Talkmobile phone, using that trusted number you’ve had for years.
What is a PAC?
A PAC is a Porting Authority Code. Give us this if you want to bring your current mobile number with you to Talkmobile

Switching to Talkmobile without my existing number

If you want to switch to Talkmobile from another network and you are really sure that you don't need to keep your existing number, all you'll need is a STAC (Switch Termination Authorisation Code)

Follow these simple 3 steps:

  • Request STAC
    Like a PAC, you can request a STAC code from your existing provider. Just be sure you don’t want to keep your number as once a STAC is used the old number cannot be retrieved. The code will be valid for 30 days.
  • Send the STAC to us
    It is best to give us your STAC code when you are buying online. This will mean that your existing operator cancels your old contract immediately and avoids you paying for 2 numbers at the same time.
  • All done!
    We’ll provide you with a fresh phone number and you can get dialing as soon as your new SIM card arrives. We’ll do all the communication with your old network to cancel your old service.
What is a STAC?
A ‘service termination authorisation code’ (or STAC code), allows you to cancel your mobile number with your previous network when you switch suppliers. They are offered free of charge and are valid for 30 days.

You can also call us and ask us to terminate your contract. If you are not transferring provider, you will not need a PAC or STAC. We will terminate the mobile number and stop billing you for this number.

Please note, when you cancel your account, your mobile number will terminate, and you will not be able to get this mobile number back. If you want to keep your mobile number, please request a PAC.

Are you leaving us?
Switching Information
If you are considering leaving us and you want to know if you would have to pay any Early Termination Charges if you were to switch now, you can request your Switching Information. We’ll then provide you with the information and send you a text message to confirm.

PAC
If you want to change mobile provider and keep your mobile number, you will need to request a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC). You can request a PAC free of charge which will be valid for 30 days. If you want to go ahead with the switch, you will have to give your PAC to your new provider. Once you have switched, your mobile number will transfer to your new provider, service with us will terminate and we will stop charging you. However, please remember not to cancel your direct debit until your final bill is settled. If you do not give your PAC to your new provider, your service will not switch, and you will continue to be charged.

STAC
If you want to change mobile provider but not keep your mobile number, you will need to request a Service Termination Authorisation Code (STAC). You can request a STAC free of charge which will be valid for 30 days. If you want to go ahead with the switch, you will have to give your STAC to your new provider. Once you have switched, your service with us for the mobile number will terminate and we will stop charging you. However, please remember not to cancel your direct debit until your final bill is settled. If you do not give your STAC to your new provider, your service will not switch, and you will continue to be charged. Please note, a STAC will not transfer your mobile number and once a STAC is used you will be unable to get this mobile number back. If you want to keep your mobile number, please request a PAC. Send an SMS

For Switching Information, text INFO and the last 2 digits of your security PIN to 85075. For PAC, text PAC and the last 2 digits of your security PIN to 65075. For STAC, text STAC and the last 2 digits of your security PIN to 75075.
